Why Rugby?

With roots in soccer and sparking the creation of American football, rugby combines aspects and skills of multiple sports. Rugby has the gameplay and kicking of soccer, the strategy of football, the evasiveness of basketball, and much more making it the perfect sport for new and crossover players.

Rugby prides itself in being an inclusive and diverse sport, often known as a sport with a position for everyone. With the same rules, regulations, and uniforms for both the girls and boys game, rugby is an empowering sport for all. Whether a player is tall, short, strong, fast, strategic, or technical – we have a jersey for them!

Rugby WA promotes rugby’s core values of respect, integrity, solidarity, passion, and discipline as well as camaraderie, hard work, and friendship with those engaged in our organization through our sport of rugby and our work in the community. These values develop physical, mental, and interpersonal skills that will produce better individuals both on and off the pitch.

Our Sport Is Our Family

Rugby has a deep history of holding strong connections within our networks as well as with our local communities. As players, coaches, referees, admins, and fans, we strive to give back to those who give so much. Whether you just learned about the game or have competed on the national stage, we are all a part of the constantly growing Rugby Family.
