Jeff Hunter Memorial
In partnership with the friends and family of the late Jeff Hunter, Rugby Washington has established a college scholarship fund to commemorate the passion, generosity, and commitment that Jeff brought to his rugby teams, his friends and his family. This scholarship, intended to help young rugby players in their pursuit of higher education. Rugby Washington’s mission is to “increase the number of youth and high school rugby players and programs in the state of Washington, foster the positive development of our players as athletes, individuals, and members of their communities, and support the development of our players to state, regional and national all-star teams.”
Award Information & Process
The Rugby Washington Scholarship Award Committee will select up to two (2) recipients for scholarship awards.

Components
These awards will reward up to two students that have demonstrated a passion and commitment to the game of rugby.
1 Recipient: $4000 Scholarship
2 Recipients: $2000 Scholarship
Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria in order to eligible to receive the scholarship
Seniors in a WA high school, any year at a 2-year or 4-year college/university qualify.
Proven dedication to rugby and community is a must.
Played a full season in RugbyWA high school leagues.
Must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents with valid IDs.

One (1) character reference in the form of a letter of recommendation from one of their rugby coaches.
A copy of their most recent transcript with cumulative grade point average.
A copy of a completed 2023/24 Free Application for Federal Student Aid,or FAFSA.
